Ryan Falkenham's first period goal proved to be the winner in a 6-1 Halifax Mooseheads win over the P.E.I. Rocket Sunday afternoon at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
With the loss, the Rocket finish the season with a 19-43-2-4, last in the league.
P.E.I. native Cameron Critchlow (1-1) led the way for Halifax. Josh Currie scored the lone goal for the Rocket.
The game remained scoreless until Andrew Ryan opened the scoring for the Mooseheads 17:42 into the first period. Falkenham then made it 2-0 with a nice shot from the slot at 18:19.
The Mooseheads continued to play well in the second period. Brent Andrews opened the scoring at 3:39 to give Halifax a 3-0 lead, before Alexandre Grenier made it 4-0 at 9:21.
Nathan MacKinnon gave Halifax a 5-0 lead at 6:47 of the third and Critchlow made it 6-0 at the 9:28 mark of the third. Currie replied for P.E.I. at 18:39, making it 6-1.
Antoine Bibeau made 27 saves for P.E.I.
Mooseheads goaltender Zachary Fucale made 36 saves.
