WJC Today - Day 2 Preview


There are only 2 games on the World Junior Championships schedule today. Game one has Denmark taking on Czech Republic. The second and final game of the day will be Saint John Sea Dogs forward Tomas Jurco and the Slovaks against Latvia.

Both Slovakia and Czech Republic have yet to play a game in this years tournament, while Denmark and Latvia both suffered blowout losses in yesterdays opening day action. See our recap of all the opening day action here.

Along with Jurco, Baie-Comeau forward Lukás Cingel and Gatineau Defenseman Adam Janosik will play for Slovakia.


The Czech also have a huge quantity of Q' players on there team. These five players are: 
Jakub Culek - Rimouski
Petr Straka - Rimouski
Tomas Filippi - Baie-Comeau
Tomas Hyka - Gatineau
Lukas Sedlak - Chicoutimi
